Plying of all vessels suspended
Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) today issued directives to suspend operation of all passenger and cargo vessels in all waterways across the country due to inclement weather.
The embargo, which was imposed for all waterways around 8:00pm, will remain effective until the announcement of next directive, said BIWTA Chairman Commodore Mohammad Mozammel Haque.
"We hope weather will start improving from tomorrow (Sunday) afternoon. The decision over resuming vessel operation will be made after weather improves," the BIWTA chief told The Daily Star.
