Peon beats up school kids for protesting his indecent act

A peon severely beat up two Class V students of Pukuridanga Government Primary School in Panchagarh Sadar upazila as they protested his showing obscene videos to a few girls of the school on Tuesday afternoon.

The victims -- Imran Hossain, 11, son of Mozibar Rahman, and Zahid Hasan, 11, son of Jasim Uddin of Ambari village under the same upazila, are undergoing treatment at Panchagarh Sadar Hospital.

School peon Zakir Hossain was showing obscene videos to several girls of Class V in the office room around 2:30pm when the teachers were absent, locals said.  

Sensing the matter, Imran and Zahid entered the office room and asked Zakir what he was doing. At this Zakir got angry and severely beat the two students, leaving them injured.

Hearing the matter, guardians and villagers rushed to the school and took the two students to Panchagarh Sadar Hospital. 

Meanwhile, Zakir managed to flee. 

Imran's right hand got fractured and Zahid had several injury marks, hospital sources said.

Guardians Ashraf Ali, Hossain Ali and Moslem Uddin said peon Zakir Hossain is a drug addict and he often showed obscene videos to girl students of the school.

Demanding action against the peon, guardians of students demonstrated at the school premises yesterday afternoon.

Contacted over mobile, Md Faruk Hossain, headmaster of the school, said, "The teachers were in an enclave area for a survey work when the incident occurred. We will take action against Zakir Hossain through holding a meeting of the school managing committee." 

Mominul Islam, officer in charge of Panchagarh Police Station, told this correspondent over cell phone that nobody filed any complaint in this connection as of filing of the report yesterday afternoon.
