Man strangles wife, son in Khagrachhari, 4 arrested

A man killed his wife and six-year-old son over dowry int Barapilak area under Guimara upazila of the district on Tuesday.
The deceased are Majeda Begum, 20, and her son Mohammad Hridoy. 

Quoting family members, Mostafizur Rahman, officer-in-charge (OC) of Guimara Police Station, said Majeda and her husband Sabar Ali, 30, had an altercation over his demand for Tk 1 lakh as dowry. At one stage, he strangled Majeda and Hridoy and fled the scene.

On information, police recovered the bodies and sent them to Khagrachhari Adhunik Sadar Hospital for autopsy, the OC added. 

Victim's father Mohammad Sahab Uddin filled a case with the police station concerned the same night. 

Police arrested Sabar Ali, his father Mahabub Alam, mother Raniwara Begum and brother Mohammad Shahjahan early yesterday.
