Man killed in attack over sharing shrine money in Brahmanbaria
A man was killed this evening in an altercation over sharing the money of a shrine in Brahmanbaria's Ashuganj upazila.
The deceased was identified as Nurul Islam, 45, son of Sahid Miah of Jatrapur village in the upazila, said Rais Uddin, additional superintendent of Brahmanbaria police.
Rais Uddin said Al Amin Shah, a khadem of Aitullah Shah Mazar, had an altercation with another khadem the mazar, Shir Islam, and his brother Nurul Islam over sharing money yesterday afternoon.
In a continuation of the fight, Al Amin along with associates Mosharraf and Moazzem attacked Shir and Nurul with spears this evening, said the ASP.
During the attack, Nurul suffered severe injuries and was taken to Brahmanbaria General Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
Additional SP Rais Uddin said they detained five people from the spot for interrogation.
On information, police recovered the body and sent it to the hospital morgue for autopsy, added the police official.
