Man held for setting fire to his wife in Barguna

A man set fire to his wife's body with kerosene over their family feud in Barguna yesterday.

The woman who sustained serious burn injuries was taken to Barguna General Hospital immediately from where she was referred to Barishal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital last night, our Patuakhali correspondent reports. 

The victim was Nipa Begum, 30, wife of Himu of Kroke village under Barguna Sadar upazila, said KM Tariqul Islam, officer-in-charge of Barguna Police Station.

"We have already arrested the husband of the victim and a local court sent them to jail," he said.

A case was filed in this connection, he added.

Police and family sources said Himu works as a tailor in Barguna town.
