Man dies from bee bites

A man died after being bitten by several bees at Madrasapara village in Haripur upazila of the district yesterday. The victim is Akhter Hossain Chowdhury, 50, son of late Abul Kalam Chowdhury of the area. Family sources said Akhter was taking rest in their mango orchard adjacent to their house. At one stage, several bees from a beehive of the orchard bit him around 4:30pm and he became unconscious. Family members rushed him to Haripur Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.
