Major (retd) Sinha murder: 3 witnesses remanded by Rab

Star Online Report

Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) today took three accused into their custody, on a four-day remand, for interrogation in a case filed over the murder of Major (retd) Sinha Md Rashed Khan.

The three -- Nurul Amin, Nizam Uddin and Ayas Uddin -- were also named as witnesses in two cases filed by police with Teknaf Police Station.

A Rab team, led by Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police Khairul Islam, took them from Cox's Bazar district jail around 11:00am for questioning in second phase, our Cox's Bazar correspondent reports quoting Rab officials.

Khairul Islam, also investigation officer of the case, said they were first taken to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital from jail for health check-up and later taken to Rab-15 office in Cox's Bazar for questioning.

On August 25, they were placed on a four-day remand each by a Cox's Bazar court. The accused had earlier completed seven days in remand on August 20.

On August 9, a Rab team arrested the three from Marishbunia village for their alleged involvement in Sinha's killing.
