Madrasa teacher held for raping 16-year-old student in Feni

Police today arrested a madrasa teacher for allegedly raping a 16-year-old boy at the madrasa in Daganbhuiyan upazila of Feni.

Emdad Ullah, 27, a resident teacher of the madrasa, who hails from Kabirhat upazila of Noakhali, was arrested from the madrasa this afternoon, said Md Imtiaz Ahmed, officer-in-charge of Daganbhuiyan Police Station.

The arrestee will be produced before the district court tomorrow, a correspondent from Feni reports, quoting the OC.

Quoting the victim's family, OC Imtiaz said Emdad raped the victim, a class-seven resident student of the madrasa, many times in the last several months.

The boy told his family members of the matter two days ago when he returned home, the OC said.

After the parents informed the madrasa authorities, police arrested Emdad, said the police official.

Later, the victim's mother filed a case under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act with Daganbhuiyan Police Station, added the OC.
