Lightning kills farmer

A farmer was killed by lightning at Gargur haor in Dharmapasha upazila of Sunamganj district yesterday. The deceased is Sher Ali, 35, son of Chandu Miah of Noabon village in Sadar upazila. A thunderbolt struck Ali when he was cutting paddy at a field in the area around 8:30am. He was rushed to a local hospital where on-duty doctors declared him dead, said Golam Kibria, officer-in-charge of Dharmapasha Police Station.
