Land office in Brahmanbaria Sadar upazila set on fire

The land office in Brahmanbaria Sadar upazila was set on fire during the dawn-to-dusk hartal enforced by Hefajat-e Islam.

Hartal supporters also set fire to Ustad Alauddin Khan Music Academy this noon.

No one went to put out the blaze there, our local correspondent reports. Picketers took control of the area, the correspondent said.

Hefajat-e-Islam enforced a dawn-to-dusk hartal across the country today protesting Indian Prime Minister Modi's visit to Bangladesh and police action in Dhaka, Chattogram, and Brahmanbaria.
