Kid injured in blast

A five-year-old boy was seriously injured in a bomb explosion at Mardona village in Shibganj upazila of the district yesterday morning. The victim is Arafat Jony, son of Azam Ali of the village. Osman Gani, sub-inspector of Shibganj Police Station, said an abandoned crude bomb exploded when Jony was playing near their house. He was rushed to Chapainawabganj Adhunik Sadar Hospital and then referred to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital as his condition deteriorated. Police are investigating the incident, said the SI.
