Jubo League man stabbed to death

A Jubo League man was stabbed to death at Mohalanga village under Sitakunda upazila of the district on Tuesday night.

The deceased was identified as Reaz Uddin Nayon, 26, son of Saleh Ahmed of the area. He was a member of Baroiyadala union unit of Jubo League in the upazila. 

A gang of five to six, led by one Ramjan Ali Khokon, swooped on Nayon in front of Molla market in the area at around 7:50pm and stabbed him, said Md Gias Uddin, younger brother of the deceased.

The incident took place after an election meeting of Raihan Uddin, Awami League nominated candidate for the post of chairman of Baroiyadala Union Parishad.

Nayon was rushed to Sitakunda Upazila Health Complex and later shifted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) where he died at around 9:45pm.
