Jubo Dal man held on drug smuggling charge

A Jubo Dal leader was arrested on charge of smuggling drugs in Pabna town yesterday morning.

The arrestee, SM Parvez Bipul, 40, of Atua area in the town, is organising secretary of Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal Pabna Sadar upazila unit.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of Pabna Detective Branch (DB) of police raided Atua area in the morning and arrested Bipul from his residence, said Officer-in-Charge Ahsanul Haque of Pabna DB police.

Bipul is an accused in several drug smuggling cases in the district, the OC said, adding that the arrestee was later produced in the Cognisance Court that sent him to jail.
