JU student killed in Sirajganj crash

A Jahangirnagar University student was killed and his co-rider injured when their motorcycle crashed head-on with a truck on Hatikumrul-Bonpara highway in Sirajganj this afternoon.

The deceased Arafat Akhtar Mishu, of Comilla, was a student of anthropology department of Jahangirnagar University. Injured Hamidur Rahman, of Jessore, is a marketing department student of the university, our Pabna correspondent reports quoting Abdul Kader Jilani, officer-in-charge of Hatikumrul Highway Police Station.

A truck from opposite direction rammed the motorcycle around 3:00pm while the duo was going to visit Hamidur's Jessore residence on a motorcycle, leaving Mishu dead on the spot, the OC said.

The injured Hamidur of was taken to Sirajganj General Hospital. His condition is stated to be critical.
