JnU student drowns in Gorai

A first-year student of Jagannath University and a minor boy drowned while having a bath in the Gorai River in Baliakandi upazila of Rajbari on Friday.

The deceased, Dipta Biswas, 22, son of Debendranath Biswas, and his neighbour Sohrab Munshi, 7, son of Sujon Munshi, were residents of Narua village in the upazila.

Local UP chairman Abdus Salam said the incident happened when the duo went to take bath in the river on Friday afternoon.

Dipta and Sohrab, drowned after being washed away by the strong current of the river.
