Jahangir shown arrested in B’baria attack case

Jahangir Alam, one of the "main instigators" of the hate attack on the Hindus in Brahmanbaria, was shown arrested today in a case filed under Information and Technology Act.

According to police, Jahangir, owner of Al-Amin Cyber Point and Studio,  shared an anti-Islamic post that had appeared on the Facebook wall of Hindu youth Rasraj Das, made copies of it and distributed those to foment trouble on October 30.

Police produced him before a Brahmanbaria court showing him arrested in the case, Iqbal Hossain, additional superintendent of police, told The Daily Star.

He was arrested on November 29 for alleged involvement with the attack that vandalised and looted around 100 houses and 15 temples in five Hindu villages in Nasirnagar upazila of the district.
