Huge logs seized in Bagerhat

Law enforcers' in a drive seized huge quantity of Sundari wood along with a trawler near Kachikhalia area in the East Sundarbans on Monday night. On secret information, a joint team of coastguards and forest officials chased a timber-laden engine-driven boat at night and seized a huge quantity of timber from the trawler. However, none was arrested as the smugglers fled the scene sinking the boat in the river, said Kamal Uddin, assistant conservator (East range) of Sundarbans.
