Housewife commits 'suicide'

A housewife allegedly committed suicide in New Colony area under Parbatipur upazila of the district yesterday. 

The deceased, Shikha Rani, 48, wife of Pratap Chandra Roy, vice-principal of Bhabanipur Degree College, was a resident of the area. 
Mahmudul Alam, officer-in-charge of Parbatipur Police Station said Pratap spotted Shikha's body hanging from a tree in the yard around 2:00pm and informed the police. 

Shikha, who had been suffering from acute depression for long, used to stay alone at home in absence of her husband.
