HC orders steps for treatment of Shahanur
The High Court today directed the government to take steps for treatment of Shahanur Alam who was maimed by stalkers of his daughters in Jhenidah.
The court also ordered the inspector general of police and Jhenidah superintendent of police to provide security to Shahanur and his family members.
The HC bench of Justice Quazi Reza-Ul Hoque and Justice Mohammad Ullah passed the order after receiving a report submitted by police on arrest of the accused in connection with two cases filed over stalking two girls and injuring their father, Shahanur.
Police submitted the report in compliance with the HC's order to arrest the accused in 72 hours.
Police in the report said that they have arrested all the 16 accused of the cases.
Stalkers beat up Shahanur, father of two daughters severely, leading to amputation of both of his legs. They threatened to burn younger girl's face with acid if the cases filed against them were not withdrawn.
