Govt for highest punishment of Nusrat’s killers: Anisul

Law Minister Anisul Huq today said the government is working to ensure the highest punishment for the persons involved in the killing of Feni’s madrasa student Nusrat Jahan Rafi.

The prosecution has been instructed to take steps so that the killers of Nusrat are not spared in any manner, he said while addressing as chief guest at a meeting organised at Vienna, capital of Austria to accord felicitation to him by Austria Awami League.

Nusrat, a student of Sonagazi Islamia Senior Fazil Madrasa in Feni’s Sonagazi upazila, was set ablaze on April 6 allegedly for refusing to withdraw a case filed against the madrasa Principal Siraj Ud Doula for sexually harassing her on March 27. She died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital on April 10.

While replying to a question, Law Minister Anisul also told the felicitation in Vienna that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina led government will always provide all assistance to the Bangladeshi expatriates.     

He urged the Bangladeshi expatriates to work in such a manner so that the dignity of the country remains upheld.

The minister advised the Bangladeshi expatriates in Austria to do their works with talent, toil and sincerity keeping good relationship among themselves so that their good fame is spread abroad.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina want to turn the country’s 17 crore people to manpower and to utilise them as asset at home and abroad, Minister Anisul added.  

He urged the Bangladeshi expatriates in Austria to send remittance to Bangladesh in legal way.

Law Minister Anisul went to Vienna on May 26 to attend the three-day 10th session of the United Nations Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC) Implementation Review Group (IRG).
