Girl hurt as fan falls

A schoolgirl was injured as a ceiling fan fell on her at the classroom of Oxford Academy in Shivalaya upazila of the district yesterday. Victim Jahanur Oni, 10, daughter of Jan-E-Alam, is a Class V student of the school. She was admitted to the upazila health complex with head injuries. The fan fell on Jahanur as its GI wire tied with the ceiling tore around 8:00am, said Md Afzal Hossain, headmaster of the school. Another student also sustained injuries in the same manner, said locals.
