Fugitive Kishoreganj war criminal dies

A fugitive war criminal of Kishoreganj died due to his old age complications in Narayanganj's Rupganj upazila today.

Gazi Abdul Mannan, 88, died in one of his relatives' house at Kanchpur in the upazila around 6:00am, a correspondent from Kishoreganj reports quoting Zakir Rabbani, officer-in-charge of Karimganj Police Station.

His body was sent to his home at Karimganj upazila in Kishoreganj for burial, OC Rabbani said.

He was found guilty and sentenced to death by a special Dhaka court this year for committing war crimes in 1971.

He was on the run since arrest warrant issued against him in a war crimes case last year.
