Forge unity, gain voters’ support for next poll: Obaidul

Urging ruling Awami League's local leaders and activists to strengthen unity among them, newly elected AL General Secretary Obaidul Quader today called upon them to work more for gaining support from the voters for the next general election.

Quader, also road transport and bridges minister, came up with the call this morning at a rally at Elitganj Bazar organised by Comilla North AL unit, reports a stringer from Daudkandi.

"Go to the doorsteps of voters to convince them to vote for Awami League in the next national election," he said.

"Forget whatever happened in the past and be united to march ahead," Obaidul urged the local AL men.

He also warned his party men of stern actions if they create any anarchy and destabilise law and order.
