Fire at plastic factory

A devastating fire broke out at a plastic factory in Kornopara area in Savar early yesterday. Deputy Director of Savar Fire Service and Civil Defence MA Mamun said the fire orginated from an electric heater at the nano bag section of AB Oven Bag Factory Ltd around 2:00am and soon engulfed the entire factory. On information, eight firefighting units rushed in and doused the flame after six hours of frantic efforts around 8:00am. The estimated loss caused by the fire could not be known immediately.
