Fire at cotton mill

A devastating fire gutted machineries and raw materials of a cotton mill at Banglabazar in Joydebpur upazila of the district yesterday. Joydebpur Fire Station officer Hasibur Rahman said the fire originated from an electric short circuit at Ambar Cotton Mill around 7:00am and burned down cotton, thread and machineries of the mill. On information, two firefighting units from Joydebpur rushed in and put out the blaze after one hour of frantic efforts.
