Falling electric pole kills one

An electricity worker died and two others were injured as an electric pole fell on them while it was being erected at Pulpara in Sadar upazila on Tuesday evening. The deceased was identified as Matiur Rahman, 25, son of Iasin Ali, a resident of Puthiakandra of Rajshahi district. Officer-in-charge of Chapainawabganj Sadar Police Station Mazharul Islam said Rural Electrification Board was setting up new electric poles at Pulpara in the evening. At one stage, a pole fell on Matiur around 6:00pm, leaving him dead on the spot and injuring two others.
