Death of madrasa student: two suspects remanded in Bagerhat

A Bagerhat court has granted a two-day remand to two suspects in connection with the death of a madrasa student in Bagerhat's Morrelganj.

The two suspects are -- Hafizur Rahman Farooque, teacher, and Siddiqur Rahman Hawladar, cook -- of Alhaj Rahmatiya Sriti Shishu Sadan Hafeji and Qawmi Madrasa.

Bagerhat Senior Judicial Magistrate Samir Mallik granted the remand after police produced them before the court around noon today, our Bagerhat correspondent reports quoting Bagerhat Court Officer-in-Charge Dilip Kumar Sarkar.

Farooque and Siddiqur were arrested by police on Monday on suspicion of their involvement in the incident.

On December 6, body of Hasibul Sheikh, a 10-year-old student of the madrasa, was recovered from near the madrasa after Fajr prayer.

Taslima Begum, mother of the child Hasibul, filed a murder case with the Morrelganj Police Station on Monday.
