Cotton mill gutted

A fire broke out at a cotton mill at Dakkhin Bhandaria village in Bhandaria upazila of the district yesterday morning. Locals said the fire originated from an electric short circuit at Composed Cotton Mill around 10:40am. On information, firefighters rushed to the spot and doused the flame after three hours of frantic efforts. Obaidur Rahman Arif, owner of the mill, claimed that the loss caused by the fire could go up to Tk 50 lakh.
