Contractor stabbed to death

Unidentified criminals stabbed a youth to death in Rupsha area in Faridganj upazila of the district on Wednesday night.

The deceased, Momin Hossain Babul, 25, of Jamalpur village, was a contractor by profession and used to live in the capital.

Victim's father Mizanur Rahman said criminals stabbed his son while he was returning home from the upazila headquarters around 10:00pm and left him in Faridganj Upazila Health Complex compound.

Later, one of the gang members called him from Momin's mobile phone and informed him of the matter, Mizanur said.

Hearing the news, Momin's family members went to the health complex and took Momin to Chandpur General Hospital, where the doctors declared him dead.

Officer-in-Charge Abul Kalam of Faridganj Police Station said police recovered the body and sent it to the hospital morgue for autopsy. Victim's father Mizanur filed a case with Faridganj Police Station yesterday. None of the gang members was arrested as of 7:00pm.
