Cattle trader gored to death by buffalo
A cattle trader was killed and two others were injured after a buffalo gored them on Saturday night in Thakurgaon Sadar upazila.
The incident happened after an accident on Thakurgaon-Dinajpur highway at Atash Mile village while they were returning home by a human haulier with the buffalo.
The buffalo came out of the vehicle during the accident and started running. Cattle traders Abdul Baset Bishu, Ansarul Islam and Shajahan were gored by the buffalo as they tried to catch it.
The locals rushed them to Thakurgaon Sadar Hospital from where Abdul Baset was referred to Rangpur Medical College Hospital as his condition deteriorated. He succumbed to his injuries on the way to hospital.
Meanwhile, aggrieved people besieged the upazila livestock office on Sunday as the buffalo died after pushing an injection there.
Upazila Livestock Officer Abdur Rahim said the cattle traders of Koshalbari village under Thakurgaon Sadar upazila bought the buffalo from a local bazar in Kaharol upazila of Dinajpur on Saturday.
The buffalo started running when it was brought to the village and moved around in different villages, injuring several people. It was caught again at Jagannathpur village on Sunday.
A team of the livestock office, went to the spot and tranquilised it and took it to the livestock office.
Later, the buffalo died at the office.
