Case filed against 52-year-old man for raping 8-year-old in Jashore

An eight-year-old has been raped allegedly by a 52-year-old man at a village in Jhikargachha upazila of Jashore.

The victim's father filed a rape case against Nur Mohammad with the Jhikargachha Police Station yesterday, said Abdur Razzak, officer-in-charge of the police station, today.

Police is trying to arrest the accused who went into hiding after the incident, our Benapole correspondent reports, quoting the police official.

According to the case statement, Nur Mohammad took the child, a class 2 student, to a banana plantation while she was playing near her house yesterday afternoon and raped her.

The man ran away when people rushed to the spot hearing her scream.
