Authorities mull admission forms distribution Dec 15, lottery Dec 30 for secondary schools in Dhaka

The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education has proposed to distribute admission forms for secondary schools in Dhaka from December 15 and holding lottery for candidates vying for admission on December 30.

The directorate has already sent a proposal in the form of a guideline to this end to the Ministry of Education, according to sources concerned.

Confirming the matter, Director (Secondary Education) Belal Hossain of the directorate told The Daily Star, "A guideline regarding admission to secondary schools has been sent to the education ministry. Everyone will be notified in this regard upon approval of the ministry".

Earlier, Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni said late last month that admission to secondary schools will be held through lottery this time.
