Arms, ammo seized

Police arrested an alleged arms peddler with two foreign made pistols, 12 bullets and four magazines at Rasun Chak village in Shibganj upazila of the district early yesterday. The arrestee is Abdul Halim, 45, son of late Mokbul Hossain of the village. On secret information, a police team raided Halim's house in the area and arrested him with the firearms and bullets around 3:30am. A case was filed against the arrestee under the Arms Act, said Moinul Islam, officer-in-charge of Shibganj Police Station.
