Antique black stone statue found

Labourers recovered an antique black stone statue from Poysar village of Bakal union  under Agailjhara upazila of the district while re-excavating an old pond yesterday. Police later took the 60 kg statue under their custody, lodged a general diary and informed the higher authorities, said Monirul Islam, officer-in-charge of Agailjhara Police Station. One Probir Biswas Nani of the area said labourers were re-excavating the pond on the land of Nazrul Shikder when a labourer hit something hard. After digging further, they found a statue made of black stone. Locals think it is an ancient statue of Bishnu.
