Ctg gas blast: Another victim dies
A college student who sustained injuries during a gas explosion in Patharghata area of Chattogram on November 17 died this morning.
Deceased Darin Tisha Gomej was a Bachelor of Commerce (B Com) student at Islamia College. She was also a part-time teacher of Patharghata Saint John’s Grammar School.
She succumbed to his injuries at Intensive Care Unit of Chattogram Medical College Hospital around 11:00am, our staff correspondent reports.
Tisha suffered injuries as a large portion of wall of a building fell on her due to gas explosion at Patharghata in the city on November 17. She was on way to her workplace on that day.
She was rescued and rushed to the CMCH casualty ward. As her health condition deteriorated, she was shifted to the hospital’s ICU unit the same day, said Pranoy Kumar Dutta, associate professor of Anesthesiology and ICU of CMCH.
The victim had multiple injuries in her body, the doctor added.
With the death of Tisha, the death toll reached eight in the incident.
Some five injured people are still undergoing treatment at different hospitals in Chattogram and Dhaka, according to the sources.
