6 sued over supplying low quality elevators to Dhaka Bar Association building

Six people, including three engineers, have been sued for supplying low quality elevators to the building of the Dhaka Bar Association (DBA).

The six are Zakiul Islam, managing director of Lead Architects Limited; Engineer AR Arif, chief executive officer of Green Elevator Technology; Engineer HM Afzal Hossain, proprietor of Fortune Engineering; Engineer MA Kabir Sumon, chief executive officer of Smart Power abs Technologies; Abdul Jalil and Md Motaleb.

Md Hossain Ali Khan, general secretary of DBA, filed the case with the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Mamunur Rashid today.

The magistrate took the case into cognisance and recorded the complainant's statements.

The court also issued arrest warrants against all the accused, court sources said.

According to the case documents, some eight people were injured in a lift accident in DBA on December 15.

The accident took place due to the low quality elevator which were provided and set up in the building of DBA by the accused.
