5th grader found dead at home in Jashore

A schoolgirl was found hanging from the ceiling fan at her house in Jashore town yesterday.

Deceased Afsana Khatun, 12, was a fifth grade student at Angel Private School in the town.

Police recovered the body from the ceiling fan from a room of her house around 8:00pm yesterday, our Benapole correspondent reports quoting police.

Palash Biswas, a sub-inspector of Jashore Kotwali Police Station, said that the body was sent to Jashore General Hospital for autopsy.

The cause of death will be known after autopsy, the SI added.

Abdus Samad, father of the victim, said he and his wife left the house yesterday afternoon for their work. Afsana was alone at that time but when they returned to the house, they found her body hanging from the ceiling fan, he added.

Abdus Samad further said his daughter had no dispute with anyone.
