54 robbers held in Sundarbans

Coastguard members arrested 54 alleged forest robbers from Kokilmoni area near the Sundarbans in Sharankhola upazila of Bagerhat district on Monday, says a press release. A team of the coastguards, acting on a tip-off, raided the area on the Pashur River and arrested the 54 robbers along with an engine-driven boat. The law enforcers also seized six machetes and five knives from their possession. The arrestees were later handed over to Dangmari forest officer, added the press release.
