5 held with 220 yaba pills in Mymensingh

Detective branch of police held five alleged members of a drug-peddling gang and seized 220 pieces of yaba tablets from their possession in Mymensingh's Bhaluka upazila last evening.

The arrestees were identified as Abdur Rashid, 26, Hasan Mia, 22, Abdur Rahim, 21, Amir Hosen, 19, and Anwar hosen, 28, reports our local correspondent quoting Shah Kamal Akanda, officer-in-charge of DB, Mymensingh Police.

A team of DB police conducted a raid in Square Masterbari area in Bhaluka based on a tip-off and arrested the five around 6pm yesterday.

A case has been filed against the arrestees under the Narcotics Control Act, the OC said adding that they were handed over to the court this morning.
