47 sued over snatching ballot papers, attack on cops

A case was filed against 47 people, including an Awami League (AL) rebel candidate, on charges of snatching ballot papers and attacking law enforcers during voting at Ajifa High School centre in Sadar upazila on Saturday.

Sub-inspector Golam Hakkani of the Detective Branch (DB) of police filed the case with Sadar Police Station the same day.

AL rebel candidate Nizam Uddin Munna, picked up by law enforcers from the centre, was later shown arrested on the same charges.

Assistant Superintendent of Police Nasim Miah said police filed the case, accusing seven named and 40 unnamed people.
