4 killed in N’ganj road crash

Four people were killed as a private car skidded off into a roadside ditch while the driver was trying to save a boy playing on Dhaka-Sylhet at Araihazar upazila in Narayanganj today.

The deceased were identified as Atiqur Rahman Pavel, son of Momen Mollah;   Tushar, son of Abdul Baten; Limon, son of Rashid Member and Ovi, son of Masum Miah, reports a Narayanganj correspondent.

The accident took place as the car driver lost his control while trying to save the boy in Purinda area around 5:30pm, Sub-Inspector (SI) Abdus Salam of Araihazar Police Station said.

Quoting locals, Shafiul Azam, inspector (investigation) of Araihazar Police Station, said the car was going from Narsingdi to Dhaka carrying the four victims.

All of them hailed from Madhabdi area of Narsingdi and aged between 25 and 30 years, police said.

One of the victims died on the spot while three others succumbed to their injuries after they were taken to a hospital in Dhaka, the SI also said.
