3 killed in Tangail, Satkhira road crashes

Three people were killed and three others injured in two separate road accidents in Tangail and Satkhira districts today.

One of the deceased was identified as Abdur Raihan hailed from Satkhira. The identity of two other deceased could not be known immediately.

In Tangail, the accident took place when a truck hit a pickup van on the Dhaka-Tangail highway at Deuhata in Mirzapur upazila around 6:15am.

Two of the pick-up van died on the spot, said Khalilur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Gorai highway police.

In Satkhira, a construction worker was killed and his three co-workers were injured after being hit by a mixture machine while it was rolling down into a roadside ditch in an uncontrolled fall at Khanpur in Shyamnagar upazila around 8:30am, said Enamul Haq, officer-in-charge of Shyamnagar police station.

The deceased was identified as Abur Raihan, 30, son of Rafiqul Islam, a resident of Kaliganj upazila of Satkhira.

The injured were rushed to the district's Shyamnagar Upazila Health Complex.
