26 more sacks of cheap rated rice seized

A mobile court yesterday seized 26 more sacks of cheap rated rice meant for the poor from Chhoto Joyrampur village in Sadar upazila.

The court led by Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Abdus Salam raided the house of late Taleb Ali and seized 26 sacks of the item from two rooms.

Meanwhile, at least eight people, including Choni and Badal of the village, have been sued yesterday on charge of black marketing the item.

On Saturday, 123 sacks of the rice were seized from two warehouses in Nandina area of the upazila.
