2 workers die inhaling toxic gas in Pirojpur
Two construction workers died after inhaling toxic gas inside a water tank of an under-construction building in Pirojpur town this morning.
The deceased are: Shamim, 27, and Abdul Alim, 30, reports our Pirojpur correspondent quoting Masumur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station.
The duo fell sick around 9:30am when they along with other fellow workers climbed down into a water tank of the under-construction building adjacent to the Primary Teachers' Training Institute (PTI), the OC said.
On information, members from nearby Fire Service and Civil Defence reached the spot and pulled out the two, he added.
Shamim and Alim were declared "brought dead" when they were taken to Pirojpur Sadar Hospital, said Dr Nani Gopal Roy, RMO in Pirojpur Sadar Hospital.
Two other workers, Nazmul Islam and Mehidi Hasan were also affected in the same incident but they are out of danger.
