2 trains collide in Dinajpur

Two people were seriously injured in a head-on collision involving two trains near Chirirbandar railway station in the district yesterday afternoon.

Rail communications between Dinajpur, Thakurgaon and Panchagarh remained suspended after the accident which caused derailment, said Stationmaster Shahidul Islam of Chirirbandar railway station.

The injured are Jahangir Alam, 40, and Ziaul Haque, gang-car operators of Toma Construction, a contracted company of Bangladesh Railway. Jahangir lost his right leg in the accident.
