2 siblings drown in pond

Two brothers drowned in a pond at Purbo Daihara village in Gobindaganj upazila of the district yesterday.

The victims are Nasir, 5 and Shamir, 4 sons of Abu Raihan of Mohishmuri village in Shibganj upazila of Bogra district.

Locals said the kids came to visit their maternal uncle Abdur Rashid's house at the village. The siblings were playing on the bank of pond beside the house when Shamir fell into the pond. Nasir went to help him, but both of them drowned.

Locals recovered their bodies at night.
