2 schoolgirls hurt in attack

Two minor schoolgirls were injured in an attack at Magura Puradanga village in Panchagarh Sadar uapzila on Sunday evening. The injured are Taslima Akhter, 11, daughter of Golam Rabbani, and Asa, 12, daughter of Anisur Rahman of the village. They are students of a local primary school. Locals said Taslima along with a group of children brought out a procession in favour of her father Golam Rabbani, a member aspirant of Magura Union Parishad (UP) polls.  At one stage, a group of youths, allegedly led by son of another member candidate Barjul Huda Badal attacked the children, leaving Taslima and Asa injured. The injured were rushed to Panchagarh Sadar Hospital. Election in the UP will be held on May 28.
