2 killed under train wheels

Two youths were crushed to death under the wheels of an intercity train near a level crossing in Sadar upazila of Jessore yesterday. The deceased were Shukur Ali, 28, son of Daud Hossain of Churamonkathi village, and Samir Hossain, 28, son of Mohiuddin of Badhdanga village in the upazila. Sub-Inspector Rejaul Islam of Jessore Government Railway Police (GRP) said the accident occurred when a Dhaka-bound train from Khulna hit the two when they were crossing rail tracks near Meherullah level crossing around 6:00am. Police later recovered the bodies and sent them to Jessore Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy, said the SI.
