2 killed in Gazipur road accident

Two workers were killed and the driver injured when a brick-laden trolley overturned at Targaon area in Kapasia upazila of Gazipur while on its way to Kaliganj upazila.

The deceased were identified as Yusuf Ali (18) and Abu Bakkar (22). Both of them hailed from Khatkhara village under Dhobaura upazila of Mymensingh, reports our Gazipur correspondent quoting police.

"The accident happened when the trolley overturned on the side of the road as it tried to pass a covered van coming from the opposite direction," said Alam Chand, officer-in-charge of Kapasia Police Station.

Two of them died on spot and while the driver of the trolley got injured, the OC said.

Locals rescued the driver and took him to a hospital nearby. Upon receiving the news, police recovered the bodies of the deceased from the spot. Legal action is being taken in this matter, added the OC.
