2 killed, 6 hurt in Gaibandha road accident

At least two people were killed and six injured in a road accident on Dhaka- Rangpur highway in Gaibandha's Gobindaganj upazila this morning.

The accident occurred when a Saidpur-bound bus of Rakib Paribahan hit a pick-up van which was parked by the road near Fasitala CNG-autorickshaw stand around 10am, reports our Bogura correspondent quoting Khairul Islam, officer-in-charge of the Gobindaganj Highway Police Station.

The bus driver lost control over the vehicle and hit the pick-up van carrying food items, the OC said.

The deceased are yet to be identified. The injured were rushed to Gobindaganj Upazila Health Complex, the OC added.

Contacted, Kaniz Fatima, resident medical officer of the health complex said that the injured were referred to Bogura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital following primary treatment.

Further details regarding the incident could not be known immediately.
